It's so true – our greatest triumphs are those we accomplish within ourselves. This is me everyday.
If someone does something just to say they did it (like running a marathon or climbing the Great Wall of China), but didn't enjoy the actual experience of having done it or the accomplishment itself, it was probably a waste of time.
I still remember what it is, and have acually accomplished it. " I don't know why, but this really worked for me – I have an organized closet, and I have a lot of other works in progress that I've been trying to accomplish for years. This will help me a lot as I attack a few goals I want to accomplish bit-by-bit.
How much greater good would that have accomplished? It obviously depends on your programme, but it's one thing to say you're doing youth empowerment and another thing to know if it's actually keeping kids in school or lowering youth crime rates. or just to the parents themselves to allow them to buy more services and training?
Even if I manage to do that, I will not feel like I have accomplished something important today. And then, when it turns out that it really does mean sleep inducing I didn’t feel accomplished. Once you are drama free, you could actually focus on accomplishing more goals. Who puts a word like that in a picture caption?
If I don't, and don't get those endorphins, then my whole schedule is off, and I get nothing accomplished, not to mention I am a miserable grouch! I consider showering, dressing and going to work BIG accomplishments during heartbreak. Maybe you could learn to be good at that and I will follow you. :) Great great post.

I certainly am a fan of working from home and believe that you have a set boundaries and expectations so that you are productive and focused on getting things accomplished to be successful. I check emails, figure out what I need to accomplish for the day, but not much more. So I don't work much in the morning. every day.
From a macro perspective, it pays to penetrate this level of social networks to get things accomplished. ." People my age are now getting business development jobs (like myself), are running social media and marketing for startups and organizations, and in other words are now in much more powerful gatekeeper positions.

I encourage the spending debate for entrepreneurs (internally and externally) to be about why to spend, what it accomplishes, how it simplifies, what's the return, etc. This encourages a debate of "reckless vs. careful" and I think that's what you're really getting at.
I think you need to write a post about things you've done right, things you want, and how you are going to move on and accomplish them. Exaggeration: repeated tales of humanitarian accomplishments grow in the retelling. Some common forms of self-deception: Beneffectance: We all tell our stories as being beneficial and effective.

I think too often we are so worried about accomplishing as many tasks as we can that we don't focus enough on the task that is right in front of us. I love the idea of "rewarding yourself with your favorite project at the end" That is such a great way to attack an incredibly overwhelming to do list.
Looking back I realize it was the one thing in my life that I could control, accomplish something, make progress, etc. Learning the skill of compromising after you've been making all decisions solo for a while (and/or if you have leadership inclinations) is not for sissies. I think it saved me from a total downward spiral!
Somehow I need to be reminded of this, and not enough people — especially people of admirable accomplishments and public profiles — openly discuss this stuff, and so I find solace in your blog. It's good to know I'm not the only one with complicated feelings about family workings.

You might be sick of hearing about my company here, but, you might also be happy to know that I’ve accomplished that goal, too. And, once I did that, I gauged my success on how well I could leverage my blog to drive traffic to my company, Brazen Careerist. Reality check: I nearly died from the stress of doing this.) Regain my sanity.
That is the only way we get to our goals, the only way the tortoise beats the hare in the race, the only way that we can look back and be so proud of our accomplishments. You've accomplished a lot. Perseverance. Perseverance. So thank you for spelling out what perseverance looks like when someone hits a wall. Don't worry.
But secondly, I've been feeling like my career isn't going anywhere and that my work isn't accomplishing anything. First of all it is winter in New England and that is always a gloomy time. I definitely struggle with moving too fast and trying too accomplish too much, always on the go. Each day I make a list of three things to accomplish (on the really stuck days that can include things like having a healthy lunch) and at the end of the day revisit. So many things to accomplish, so many ideas to work on.

As a career counselor, I have witnessed immense support for students' desires to gain experience through internships, externships, student leadership, and connections with alumni and other professionals. That I didn't accomplish that goal is on me, for not being diligent enough to follow my initial vision to completion.
