In the Toastmasters program, which helps improve public speaking and communication, critiques are called evaluations. I'm starting to see posts that seem to suggest that motivation should be all stick, no carrot. By doing so you can motivate to produce even superb results.
If you inspire someone to do a good job you've internally motivated them and they'll likely exceed your expectations.
