As a career counselor, I have witnessed immense support for students' desires to gain experience through internships, externships, student leadership, and connections with alumni and other professionals. While in college I almost failed out one year because I would stay up until 4am learning how to do HTML. I couldn't agree more.
I think leadership is the same. I love them and agree that they are critical in effective leadership and any meaningful relationship.
