That is the world that would exist without criticalthinking. Criticalthinking is not well understood. People say “you go to school to learn how to think” but show no evidence that this happens. We assume criticalthinking happens at work but we can’t explain how we do it.
It used to be that people only did writing and criticalthinking for school. So they needed school to teach them communication skills and criticalthinking skills. And I could have gotten all of those read/writing/criticalthinking skills simply by reading, writing, and joining writers groups on my own.
PS: I am pretty sure that anyone who thinks that someone's life can "jump the shark" lacks imagination and criticalthinking skills. They're a bit industrial in appearance, but I have always wondered if they could be helpful for my some of my ASD students.
Keeping one's criticalthinking capacity on all the time – not hiding it behind laws or rules of polite discourse – is key to doing anything different or better. That is brave and most of all intellectually honest. anger irritability etc. how does this translate in real time?
