I have to bite into seven before I find one I like, and I lay in bed in between bites in case I have to cry, and then I bite four more to find a second one of the kind I like, and then there are broken chocolates strewn across my bed. I am not crying, though. I think I am past that.

And she's stuck and not finding solutions. I am a top U.S. career expert for people over 38 years old, and I've tried to help her with a resume and some coaching years ago. She is afraid to work and has now gotten herself into severe credit card debt and has zero money left. She is afraid to work and earn a living.

Wrote down everywhere I looked to ASK QUESTIONS. I never knew how to LISTEN. Unless, of course, there was a debate involved. Being me is good enough!

Except for the slow eaters, these are bounded problems with reliable solutions. Often, the keys aren't there.
I find happiness in material things, sure, but I'm happy when I'm with friends that remind me of where I'm from and what we've been through, when I'm with my girlfriend and can think about building a future with her, and when I'm alone and can organize thoughts, make plans, and find solutions.

As an engineer I always try to think of technology solutions to problems like this. Sometimes the simplest solution is the least obvious. This may seem like a Pollyanna solution. Like I can't use a Moleskine to track my todo list because I can't reorder items and clear out crossed out items if it's on paper.
