I recently saw Erick Goss speak at a conference on media trends, and the best advice he gave was to find cheap ways to fail because there were no guaranteed solutions. Built my own home in 2008 and have never painted or used wall paper on my walls.
I certainly am a fan of working from home and believe that you have a set boundaries and expectations so that you are productive and focused on getting things accomplished to be successful.
