A lot of the conflict Ryan Healy and I used to have is that I had no idea how to communicate with an introvert. He did a bunch of research about communication styles and he taught me this difference between us. I'm getting a lot from these posts on Aspergers + communication styles at work. Like you, I suck at the friendship thing, and that's mostly because I suck at talking, especially on the phone–which is how most non internet people seem to communicate. I know that you are in a difficult time, and can only hope that you are able to come out of it as a happier, more knowledgeable person. Impossible to yourself.
That could also be out of necessity, but… 3) Be clear in communicating expectations. 2) My guess is that your company also see's big potential in you or they wouldn't have placed 'only 6' people reporting to you. Then confirm that they understand said criteria. 4) Be yourself. What kind of leader do we really like?
