My new job isn't what I want to do forever, but it is putting money in the bank to fund my interests, and gaining me experience in communications. Not that I have any reason to doubt you, but why does nearly every major investment/banking firm that got gobs of money in the bailout because they nearly collapsed under the weight of stupid investments make the list? I work for a top bank, and our workforce is reported at 83% female. So it doesn't make the list. The reasons?
And guess which industry my friends & I work in – yup banking. For some reason, your voice seems to get through to her much better and smoother than mine on topics like frugality etc. : ) She totally looks up to you as a mentor! I'm 51 and find it hard to do things like call doctors, or go to the bank, or make appts., I was right there with you in this whole circumstance, and I could feel everything you're talking about. stuff like that. I've always been told I was just blonde lol. Seriously, I appreciate you sharing your experiences.
Years ago, I worked in a rural bank, located in a small Wisconsin town similar to Darlington. The fact that the farmer has worked with his parents for 20 years and still not acquired equity in the 500 acres points to major problems in relations. One of the crabbiest, pessimistic customers there was an elderly bachelor.
I'd like to add one idea from a mentor of mine, who led big organizations in both sectors. Our bank account barely noticed. I was thinking that even though I don’t know where my bank card is, I have the company card. The concept of becoming an amicable coworker, does not work, because you have to be YOU… and the rest need to accept your leadership(or as you call "passion"). But now I’m cut off from the credit card. I love your blogs.

Like, my husband got hit with a bunch of bank fees that he didn't deserve, and he was pissed. I was a bit heartbroken when you guys split. I couldn't have done any of those things as I had my first child when I was 19; there was no money for a diploma from Harvard and there weren't enough hours in my day for a job at an investment bank. However, through all of my mediocrity, I have gained a sense of self worth and confidence that will take me wherever I choose to go.
