Companies like Google have very flexible environments and pretty moderate hours, particularly for engineers, but are about 75% male (and 85 – 90% for engineers).
On one hand will be the Gen Xers; though they are not "in it for the money" and though they don't care who is in charge as long as the job gets done, they will be prepping their now new bundles of joy for college and that added expense will have to change their formula about what is important in terms of careeradvancement.

What is Employee Motivation? No matter how well-designed the machine is, it won’t work without it. What might be the reason behind that drive?
For example, someone in marketing might launch a campaign promising features that an engineer has not designed or constructed yet. What types of incentives (financial, recognition, careeradvancement) will be most effective in motivating our workforce?
