At least two of those in the 6 have been clients of mine in the last 2 years, and I would definitely say that the "quality of life" at those employers is *extremely* variable, depending on whom your managing partner is, whether he (and lets be fair, the partner still is almost certainly *he*) – is hitting his number for the quarter.

For some reason, your voice seems to get through to her much better and smoother than mine on topics like frugality etc. : ) She totally looks up to you as a mentor! Frugality is very important not just for careeradvancement or a tool but also for emergency purposes.
I'd like to add one idea from a mentor of mine, who led big organizations in both sectors. There ARE some nonprofits that are run this way (mine is!), So is prestige, careeradvancement, power, etc. A friend of mine is thinking of starting a for profit company that serves not for profits.
