Turns out he had also lied to me about the level of financial control X had over his finances. I can't remember. He went to therapy and stopped lying to me and himself. As soon as he started to draw boundaries with X, X turned vindictive. We're picking up the pieces now and we'll be fine.

Our family has grown stronger, but it does change life, career and finances.
