Diamonds, real estate, and stocks are girls' best friends, not flowers. I would rather take someone out to lunch or give them gift certificates if I couldn't give them a bonus. I told my husband-to-be that with all that money he would waste on flowers, he could just buy me a condo in Hawaii or Apple stocks.

He worked in the family business of real estate and we lived in his house 3 doors down from the parents. I went to school on nights to get a teaching certification added to my present Bachelors Degree. I shrugged it off, married him, and paid big time! We were able to move (in debt horribly) to another city 6 hours away.
