One flaw I railed at for years was the lack of creative, spontaneous unfettered time. Now I schedule time to find connections, be creative, listen and daydream during each day, even if it is only for 15 minutes. The whole "shiny object syndrome" that you describe seems to be a common character trait of creative people.

I'm in Marketing which requires you to be outgoing at times, but the part I love the most is analyzing and being creative. I love alone time. I love to think.

I'm in the real estate industry, and surrounding yourself with good people who are creative and open to other ideas, and who are willing to implement and mix and match (#6), has been key to the success that I've had in this market. I especially like point #5. Every ship needs a captain, a navigator, and an engine room engineer.

I am twenty years older than Owen, but she inspires me to be brave, takes risks, and let my creativity get the best of me. I work in tech, and in a recent chemistry trade magazine, of people who were withing 1-5 yrs out of college, women were making more then men (5-10% more or 105-110% of men- you silly nit pickers).

Since I am creatively challenged by nature (I'm an engineer) I will focus on the sugar aspect and add nerds and gummy bears (both available from the office candy/crack pusher) to decorate the cupcakes and hope for the best. I love to cook too – it's such a creative and also nurturing process. 25 types of sprinkles??

Anyway, very few people have been creative geniuses on their own. Joshua Wolf Shenk has a whole column on Slate devoted to this topic or partnering to release creative genius. "So I would adjust yardages and not tell him." " Woods ended up hitting the ball inside two feet from the cup and went on to win.

We also learned to be very creative with ourselves, because there wasn't as much to do as in the city. I constantly found ways to be challenged, to exceed and be creative. Three magazines to subscribe to on the farm: Astronomy, Stockman Grass Farmer (by Allan Nation) and Birding World or Birds & Blooms. Congratulations!
