It used to be that people only did writing and criticalthinking for school. So they needed school to teach them communication skills and criticalthinking skills. And I could have gotten all of those read/writing/criticalthinking skills simply by reading, writing, and joining writers groups on my own.
The intermission entertainment is different. But most white people – at least in this part of the world – are not forced to think about race at all.
