Those things can be reinforced in school but the bulk of it is developed at home in my opinion. The trick is to develop a toolkit of questions large enough to accommodate all listening habits.

I followed my son around all day with spoonfuls of butter, and I kept him out of the hospital until a feeding therapist could force-feed him other high-fat content foods, like, ice cream and French fries. When I got home from the hospital, the farmer was trying to stabilize things at home. Also no chance to develop coping skills and/or resilience. Then she got splashed with water and darted and I fell off of her. I got a sprained neck and a concussion. And I got lots of narcotics to deal with the pain. Hence, no need for damage control.

I know that was a throwaway aside for you in this post, but every time someone says they wish they had anorexia, I think of my cousin Kerry a few years ago — down to 80 lbs, too small for size zero clothes, and in the hospital — and how helpless I felt about being able to convince her know she was precious and important.

Our cowboys and personnel went to local hospitals to visit sick children and brighten their day for no financial gain. Clearly not the young men and women brought up in Wisconsin.
