I think it's important to not make people feel bad or stupid when they ask questions – intimidation doesn't motivate learning. That rings true to me. Good questions require creative thinking.

The thing is, I think it was probably messed up that I kept working and did not check myself into a hospital. When he left the hospital he was paralyzed. So I wrote that. And then I felt bad. I followed my son around all day with spoonfuls of butter, and I kept him out of the hospital until a feeding therapist could force-feed him other high-fat content foods, like, ice cream and French fries. . I know that was a throwaway aside for you in this post, but every time someone says they wish they had anorexia, I think of my cousin Kerry a few years ago — down to 80 lbs, too small for size zero clothes, and in the hospital — and how helpless I felt about being able to convince her know she was precious and important.

You are trying to motivate people to do the impossible and some "genius" is pulling the carpet out from under you. Not only was it not OTT, it was mature, kind & mentor-y. They gave me 20. I totally think it's important to learn to think about subjects that are not necessarily applicable to a job, and am motivated to do so on my own. I loved studying communication, but now I work as an executive assistant in a psychiatric hospital. However, I think that liberal arts degrees hoodwink 18 year olds.
