I started working from home once I started in the realestate business and thought that i could get a lot of stuff done, but with my daughters coming home and wanting to play with their Dad, it was hard for me to not want to spend that quality time with them and this affected my workflow.
I'm in the realestate industry, and surrounding yourself with good people who are creative and open to other ideas, and who are willing to implement and mix and match (#6), has been key to the success that I've had in this market. I especially like point #5.
Built computers for other animators and editors, Mr. Mom, RealEstate Investor (pretty much lost my shirt with this one and remain cold to this day) now I'm back selling technology. Started out in broadcast equipment sales, started a computer animation company, I was the only employee, an animator.

He worked in the family business of realestate and we lived in his house 3 doors down from the parents. BUT- My point is this- I married a wonderful man (sensitive, patient, loving, self-less, relaxed, level headed, … ) who I was warned by others to be "VERY" close to his family.
